Muslim students do not have the same opportunities to lead interfaith work on college campuses as their Christian and Jewish peers, one reason being that Muslim Student Associations lack the level of national or regional organization that other religious student groups have achieved. Our project seeks to address this disparity by cultivating a network of MSAs in the Midwest that can provide the structure and support needed to develop Muslim-led interfaith activities on college campuses. We propose to recruit a cohort of 20 campuses to participate in this work, with each campus receiving funding that will be used to support Muslim students designing and offering at least one interfaith activity on their campus. Ultimately, the impact of this grant will be to create a network of institutions and MSAs that feel empowered to create future iterations of this work that benefit from the knowledge gained from our proposed project.
