The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) aims to enhance a wide range of energy efficiency and electrification programs across the U.S. by addressing the reliance on financial incentives and lack of behavioral science integration. ACEEE will establish a Behavioral Science Research and Practice Hub to provide curated resources and access to tailored technical assistance to catalyze uptake across a range of programs designed to increase energy efficiency in the building, transportation, and industrial sectors. Activities will include creating a website on aceee.org for key curated resources, conducting focused outreach, and offering one-to-one technical assistance. Expected deliverables are a comprehensive website with practical guidance documents, execution of an outreach plan, and technical assistance sessions leading to tangible changes in how programs are designed and delivered. This project will embed behavioral science principles in program design in at least five programs, leading to more effective and impactful energy efficiency initiatives nationwide.
