Working with 12 private nonprofit colleges and universities in Minnesota, the Minnesota Private College Fund and Council’s Transfer Initiative will: Establish a transfer guarantee of admission for students who complete the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum or earn an Associate of Arts degree at a Minnesota community college. Develop shared discipline-specific Transfer Pathways, building on the existing pathways that Minnesota State has created. We will undertake this work in six disciplines: psychology, English, biology, chemistry, communications and history. Improve the transfer-focused web resources, better serving and reaching community college students.
With these activities, the aim is to reduce the confusion and uncertainty that community college students can have about their ability to come to private nonprofit colleges and how their credits will transfer.
The success of this project will be demonstrated by the success of community college students earning bachelor’s degrees and the ease with which they were able to make the transition and move credits efficiently into our institutions and pursue specific majors.
