CAPC proposes to expand its community-based palliative care programs to ensure access to palliative care for patients who are at home or in a community care setting. CAPC will also continue to refine the business case for palliative care as a quality standard in hospital enterprise settings, which will include a routine screening of all seriously ill patients. Finally, CAPC proposes to develop a health system checklist for those organizations implementing palliative care service to help standardize access to quality palliative care for all patients.
With funding from AVDF, CAPC anticipates training an additional 30,000 clinicians in palliative care skills and supporting 300 new provider organizations in launching or growing their palliative care program.
